I rarely try and capture a specific location in my landscape work. They are more an imaginative amalgamation of places from deep memory or a half-remembered story. And they are always about the way light arrives to bring hope and joy - even in the darkest places or the loneliest moments. But I suppose there is always a fragment of my beloved Lake District in them. And, more recently, aspects of my new home in Dorset.
